Chart questions
How do I use a time to decimal chart?
Find the minute value in the first column and read its decimal-hour equivalent. Add that decimal to any whole hours in the original duration.
Why are some values rounded?
Fractions such as one third repeat forever in decimal form. The chart shows two and four decimal places; use minutes divided by 60 when an exact calculation is required.
Is 30 minutes 0.30 hours?
No. Thirty minutes is half of a 60-minute hour, so it equals 0.50 decimal hours.
Can I print the chart?
Yes. Use the downloadable PDF, which places the complete 1-to-60-minute table on a clean printable page.
